Dwight Powell cleared to play after on-court incident

Mavs forward reportedly suffered corneal abrasion

Powell can now see clearly and is expected to play in next game

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Dallas Mavericks forward Dwight Powell has been cleared to play after suffering a corneal abrasion on his left eye. Powell was injured during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night when Slovenian basketball star Luka Dončić accidentally poked him in the eye with his glasses.

Powell was taken to the locker room and treated by team doctors. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but the Mavericks announced on Saturday that he has been cleared to play.

Powell is expected to start in the Mavericks' next game against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.
